This is a supercharged vehicle but I am trying to avoid going into the purchase blindly and want to hear from others who own this particular model Jaguar. Thanks to all who can offer their experiences.|||You should consider that the exterior design of this car changes so little from one generation to the next. Adding that it has a lot of power, future standard models will take some time in catching up. So this car should last with you for years to come.|||I know alot about Jaguar cars. |||Consumer Reports rates this car pretty low in terms of reliability and gives it a "Used Car Verdict" of poor.
According to their data, it looks like the XJR suffered from major and minor engine problems, major and minor transmission problems, and major electrical problems. This data is based on what they and the manufacturer have collected from owners of this model.
If I were you, I would steer clear of the Jags. They look sharp, but they're expensive to fix and reliability is hit and miss at best.
