What is the difference between jaguar and leopard, cheetah and king cheetah?

black big cat is it jaguar?|||Answer number three was a fairly good answer, but there is more. Jaguars and Leopards are often mistaken for each other (by those who don't know their cats), but as already noted, Jaguars are more South American jungle dwellers, and Leopards are mainly African cats. Jaguars have a broader face than Leopards.

Cheetahs are not actually considered one of the "Big Cat" family. It is said that the long black lines from their eyes down their faces are from tears at being left out of the cat world. Here are some Cheetah facts:

Their claws do not retract, ever, the way the other cat's claws do.

Although male Cheetahs will often form small units of two up to four in order to hunt more easily, they are primarily a solitary cat, unlike lions which live in large families.

Cheetahs can purr, the other big cats cannot.

Cheetahs will never scavenge: if the kill is not of their own doing, they take a pass.

Conversely, many other animals will steal from Cheetahs (Lions, Leopards, Hyenas...), which is why Cheetahs have to gulp down their food in a panic and keep moving - no leisurely dining for them.

Cheetahs will do almost anything to avoid a fight (with the exception of a mother protecting her children: I've seen Cheetahs run off Lions then). This is because their only advantage is their speed, but their bodies are very delicate and they slightest injury to a paw or leg could render them incapable of hunting.

Like Lions, Cheetahs don't climb trees (although kittens will from time to time).

And of course, the beautiful and noble Cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world.

There are fewer than 500 Cheetahs living in the world today; they are a heartbeat away from extinction.|||JAguars tend to live in south american jungles they have dark spots with darker skin all around... Leopards are tree climbers typically found in africa lighter skin with a different type of spots... Cheetahs are the smallest out of the big cat family they are the only ones with non reyractable claws they have long dark lines from their eyes all the way to their mouths which keeps the sun out of their eyes they are the sprinters they have smaller spots|||Well, that depends who you are asking. They may reference it differently and say a puma is a jaguar, or viceversa. A king cheetah will be larger (no doh!) and is faster. A leopard I think is slightly different, but all in all the same.|||Google it
