What is the probability of a 2006 Jaguar S Type having a super charger?

Girlfriend has an S Type in the shop because a "Transmission Fault" warning came on. The shop is telling her it's either the "Super Charger" or "Water Pump". She lives far away so I can't look at it or drive it. I just find it hard to believe that a standard production car would even have a super charger and think she may be getting hosed. Not knowing a lot about Jaguar's, I'm asking the question.|||The S-Type R model had a supercharger from the factory. A number of production cars can be had with superchargers. The Shelby Mustang GT500, The new Audi A6, the Cadillac CTS-V and the new Jaguar XJ for example

It does seem odd that a fault with the transmission would have anything to do witht he supercharger or water pump though.|||Plenty of production cars had superchargers. Many still do. I have a Grand Prix GTP that is supercharged from the factory. GM produced tens of thousands of cars that had a supercharged V6. And as the other answer said, the GT500 is supercharged, as well as the Cadillac CTS-V. The new Camaro ZL1 will share the same engine as the CTS-V. Superchargers aren't really all that uncommmon.|||i agree take the car somewhere else... he sounds dodgy
